About the Author
Born in 1974, David Herzhaft has been playing harmonica in numerous bands, live performances and studio sessions. He has also been teaching harmonica and working on harmonica techniques for over 25 years. He has written 8 books about the harmonica and sold over 20 000 copies, recorded 3 solo albums and keeps on creating as much music as he can on this tiny funky instrument.

When we speak about improvisation on any instrument not only harmonica the most useful and needful thing is scale!
David Herzhaft is players player and really deep into music theory. I like this book and really dig it! This book is for every level of player who wants to develop his music understandment, improvisation skills and make own solos more interesting!

perfect book for learning and using scales

This book opens me the way of playing the harmonica in other styles then blues. It shows the usability of different scales, and how they sound, special when I play over the additional sound examples from David which are perfect mixed and varied. I use it also in my live jam sessions. The training book of him to this encylopedia i can recommend also to make the next steps between learning theory and playing. In real harp-trainings with a teacher it helps me also to find the bottle-necks in my playing technics and getting easier what I didn't understand in theory.

Bummer

This book was supposed to allow you to download the music for the scales from Herzhaft's website. However, it was a site called Hacked and there was no music. My attempts to contact David Herzhaft were unanswered. So basically I have a book with no music. Bummer.
